Met Gala 2025

The 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5 at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art, embraced the theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," celebrating the rich heritage of Black fashion and dandyism. Co-chaired by Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour.

Standout moments of the evening included Rihanna's revelation of her third pregnancy. The 37-year-old singer and fashion icon arrived in a custom Marc Jacobs ensemble which flaunted her baby bump. Wisdom Kaye was also notably absent from the 2025 Met Gala as he explained that his attendance last year was facilitated by TikTok purchasing a table and extending him an invite, rather than a personal invitation from the event organizers .

Some African artists also blessed the event like South African singer Tyla in a custom Balmain gown, styled by Katie Qian, Nigerian singer Burna Boy designed Ozwald Boateng and  Tems rocked  a deep blue shirt dress adorned with a green print designed by Ozwald Boateng too.
The accompanying Costume Institute exhibition, inspired by Dr. Monica L. Miller's book Slaves to Fashion, delved into over 300 years of Black fashion, emphasizing the role of tailored menswear in shaping Black identities across the Atlantic diaspora.
